Terms & Conditions

The fair, plain-English terms that apply when you book a move with us.

Edward Man And Van Services is a London-based man and van and removals service run by a self-employed sole trader (“we”, “us”, “our”). Your move is carried out by one insured driver from start to finish. These Terms & Conditions govern the quotes we give and the moves we carry out. By requesting a quote or confirming a booking you (“you”, “the customer”) agree to them. They sit alongside our Privacy & Cookies Policy.

1. Our service

We provide man and van, house and flat removals, single-item delivery, furniture collection, office moves and clearances across London and the surrounding areas, Monday to Saturday, 08:00–19:00. Every booking is handled personally by one driver with one van, so you deal with the same person throughout.

2. Quotes and pricing

3. Booking and payment

A booking is confirmed once we have agreed a date, time and price. We do not normally take a deposit. Payment is due on completion of the move by card or cash, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. If payment fails or is withheld without a valid reason, the amount due remains payable.

4. Your responsibilities

5. Items we cannot move

For everyone’s safety and to stay within the law and our insurance, we cannot transport hazardous, flammable or explosive materials; illegal goods; perishable food; plants or livestock; or cash, jewellery, important documents and other irreplaceable valuables, which should travel with you. We may decline any item we reasonably consider unsafe or unsuitable to carry.

6. Care, insurance and liability

We handle your belongings with care and carry goods-in-transit and public liability insurance. In the event of loss or damage that is our fault, our liability is limited to the cover provided by our goods-in-transit policy. We are not liable for:

Please declare fragile, valuable or awkward items in advance so they can be handled appropriately. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Damage or loss claims

Please check your items on delivery and tell the driver about any damage at the time. To make a claim, contact us in writing within 7 days of the move with a description and photographs of the affected items. We will investigate every claim fairly and promptly.

8. Cancellations, changes and access

You can cancel or reschedule, and we ask for as much notice as possible so we can offer the slot to someone else. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if we arrive and cannot carry out the move because of no access or significantly incorrect information, the £50 minimum charge may apply to cover the reserved slot. Waiting time or extra work caused by access problems on the day is charged at the standard hourly rate.

9. Complaints

If something isn’t right, we want to put it right. Contact us on 07550 145313 or through our contact page. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and to resolve them fairly as quickly as we can.

10. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy & Cookies Policy and UK data protection law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force is the one published here, with the date shown above. The terms that applied at the time of your booking govern that booking.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
