Edward Man And Van Services (a self-employed sole trader based in London) is the “data controller” for the personal information you provide through this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). We take your privacy seriously: we ask only for what we need, we never sell your data, and we never share it for third-party marketing.
We use your information, and rely on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR, to:
We will only send you marketing if you ask us to, and you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and deliver your move, and only as far as needed:
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so.
Some of our providers may process data on servers outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK ‘adequacy’ regulations or standard contractual clauses / an International Data Transfer Agreement) to keep your information protected.
Our own website uses only the cookies essential for it to function. Some embedded third-party content sets its own cookies or receives technical data when it loads:
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; note that blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working.
We keep enquiry and quote details only for as long as we need them to follow up and provide our service. Records relating to completed jobs are kept for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (generally six years, as HMRC requires), after which they are securely deleted or anonymised.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, contact us on 07550 145313 or via our contact page. We will respond within one month.
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is the one published here, with the date shown above.
