Before the move

• Declutter early. The less you move, the less you pay. Sell, donate or recycle anything you don't need.
• Book in advance. Midweek and mid-month slots are usually cheaper and easier to schedule.
• Measure doorways and lifts. Make sure large furniture will actually fit through.
• Tell us about stairs and parking. Sharing access details up front means an accurate quote and no surprises.

Packing like a pro

• Use small boxes for heavy items (books, tools) and large boxes for light items (bedding, cushions).
• Label every box by room and contents so unloading is quick.
• Wrap fragiles individually and fill gaps so nothing shifts in transit.
• Keep an essentials bag with chargers, documents, medication and a kettle for day one.

On moving day

• Be ready before the driver arrives to keep the job on time and on budget.
• Disassemble flat-pack furniture in advance where you can.
• Keep valuables and documents with you rather than in the van.
• Do a final walk-through to check nothing is left behind.
